Lead standing seam and other roofing
That’s what 5 tonnes of lead roofing looks like when fitted to the Chancel roof at St Mary’s church East Brent, Somerset.
One of our work colleges Kyle can be seen putting the finishing touches to some Code 8 hand made sand cast lead. All our metal roofs are carried out with the highest standards of craftmanship and materials.

This is the result after only 9 years of using a so called “leadworker” to fit this roof.
To the untrained eye, it looked like a nice lead roof but lurking below was a complete disaster. The roof had corroded away from the underside due to poor ventilation – it was leaking everywhere and will have to renewed completely.

It was nice to go back to a job we completed 17 years ago, now overgrown and hard to find, but still doing it’s job, at Hestercombe Gardens, Taunton.

Main roofs code 8 sand cast hollow core rolls with code 9 sand cast gutter linings with zinc roof to the porch.
All timber in the gutters were relined to correct falls and step heights hence code 9 gutters. Also some stone masonry to the porch parapets.
